Admissions

The announcement for admission is usually made in May at the St Peter Cathedral Basilica and some other Catholic Parishes in the vicinity of the School. The announcement goes for admissions into Nursery 1 (for children of 2 years of age) only. However, limited admissions into the other streams shall depend on the available spaces or vacancies created through transfer or withdrawal (usually at the end of the term or academic year). Interested pupils will dully apply by obtaining the requisite form and upon passing an entrance examination or an interview. The entrance exam is set for KG 1 to Basic 6 and JHS 1.

Registering to write the BECE by Form 2 students is highly discouraged by the School. Any student in JHS 2 who absents himself/herself during the BECE week will be deemed to have gone to take part in the BECE and as such will be dismissed. Furthermore, if the student has other siblings in the School, they shall all be withdrawn too.

Procedures & Requirements

Please note that all students applying to MARTYRS OF UGANDA PREP/ ST LWANGA J.H.S (MUPLS) (except Nursery 1 & 2 students) will participate in a placement test. Once all considerations are made the applicant will proceed to be admitted.

Please contact the administration for the closest dates of placement tests. Final placement will be based upon review of placement test results.

In order to ensure a safe and happy school experience for all our young learners, we ask that all of the following materials be submitted to the school before a placement test can be taken:

  • Copy of birth certificate or weighing card
  • Report card from previous school
  • Testimonial from previous school
