Prayer against Bribery and Corruption in Ghana

Father in heaven, you’ve always provided for all your creatures so that all may live as you have willed.
You have blessed our country Ghana with rich human and natural resources to be used in your honour and glory and for the well-being of every Ghanaian.

We are deeply sorry for the wrong use of these your gifts and blessings through our injustice,
bribery and corruption as a result of which many of our people are poor and defenseless, sick and hungry, ignorant, and frustrated.

Father, we beg you, touch our lives and lives of our leaders and people
so that we may all realize the evil of bribery and corruption and work hard to eliminate it.
Make us cherish, fearless, honesty and integrity, transparency, probity and accountability in our dealings with each other.
Instill in all of us fear of God so that we may walk in the path of peace, prosperity, freedom and justice.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God, who by the resurrection of your son Our Lord Jesus Christ has been pleased to fill the world with joy.
Grant, we beseech you that by the Virgin Mary His mother, we may receive the joys of eternal happiness.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

May divine assistance remain with us and may the souls of the faithful departed through the Mercy God rest in peace. Amen.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside the still waters, he restores my soul.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness, for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
For you are with me, your rod and your staff they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup over flows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
I will fear no one, The Lord protects me from all danger,
I will never be afraid, when evil people attack me try to kill me,
they stumble and fall, even if a whole army surrounds me, I will not be afraid.
Even if enemies attack me, I will still trust God.
I have asked the Lord for one thing, one thing only do I want?

To live in the Lord’s house all my life, to marvel there at his goodness, and to ask for His guidance.
In times of trouble, He will shelter me, He will keep me safe in His Temple, and make me secure on a high rock. Amen

Psalm 91

God Our Protector

Whoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty can say to Him,
‘You are my defender and protector, you are my God, in you I trust’’.
He will keep you safe from hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases.
He will cover you with His wings;
you will be safe in His care.
His faithfulness will protect and defend you.
You need not to fear any danger at night or sudden attacks during the day,
or the plagues that strike in the dark, or the evils that kill in day light. Amen.

The Closing Prayer

O Lord, we thank you for looking after us throughout the day.
now we are going home,
please lead us safely and protect us and guide us during the night through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

You have laid a great foundation
For all Christians to follow

Have laid a great foundation
Help us stand firm in the battle
Till the day of the Lord

Killed in hatred of their faith
Charles Lwanga firm in and his companions
Were fervent Catholics
Hail the Martyrs of Uganda
Give us strong and solid faith
May we imitate our Saviour
For all the days of our lives
